Premiere String Trio and Duo have started their Olympic debut in style this week with the first three events held by Proctor and Gamble’s Thank You Mum campaign. So far they have performed at the opening night along with lunches for Chinese and Japanese teams’ families and delegates. The lunches have been a tribute to parents of athletes. Vinopolis has been transformed to accommodate Athletes and their families supporting them during the Olympics. Premiere Strings have performed a varied Classical and light programme entertaining them while they enjoy lunch and a tour around the complex. Upcoming events include evening reception and dinner for the Greek. Turkish and Russian teams.
Pachelbel’s Canon in D] is the most famous piece of music by German Baroque composer Johann Pachelbel. It was originally scored for three violins and bass and paired with a gigue in the same key. Like most other works by Pachelbel and other pre-1700 composers, the Canon remained forgotten for centuries and was rediscovered only in the 20th century. Several decades after it was first published in 1919, the piece became extremely popular, and today it is frequently played at weddings and included on classical music compilations, along with other famous Baroque pieces such as Air on the G String by Johann Sebastian Bach.

We were lucky enough to be invited to perform for a celebration of a wedding anniversary yesterday in Long Crendon, near Aylesbury. A marquee had been erected in which lunch was served and we performed a wide range of our classical repertoire which was a really nice opportunity to play lots of Mozart, Bach, Pachelbel, Handel and Elgar as well as Karl Jenkins’ Palladio – the “Diamond Music”! We also performed some Gershwin as well as film music including Indiana Jones, Raiders of the Lost Ark theme! It was a wonderful day and we were glad that we could help add to the atmosphere of the day!
Saturday was spent performing for Stephen and Stacy at 2 venues. We began at a lovely church in Herne Bay, Kent before making a swift exit to return to one of our favourite venues – Winter Barns near Canterbury. This lovely old barn is a perfect venue for us, particularly with the weather we have been having recently as we can play under cover! The bride and groom chose some really nice music including Pachelbel Canon in D, Perfect Day by Lou Reed and All You Need is Love by The Beatles.
Premiere String Quartet began the weekend performing for a wedding at Syon House, Syon Park which is in Brentford, Middlesex. The ceremony took place in the main house in a beautiful room before we moved on to the drinks reception outside the amazing conservatory, which apparently the Crystal Palace was based on! The weather took a turn for the worse so we moved into the cactus house, quickly followed by the guests!
Premiere String Quartet have moved! We are now available for weddings, events and concerts in our new home town of Tunbridge Wells in Kent! We are looking forward to playing as a string quartet, string trio and string duo in the lovely churches and venues in Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding areas of Kent, Surrey and Sussex – as well as continuing to perform in London, Essex and around the South of England!
Premiere String Quartet are pleased to have been named a preferred supplier to British Airways. Having performed at several events including a string duo performance for the opening of a new office in Hounslow, Middlesex we have now been added to Briish Airways’ preferred supplier list! We are looking forward to providing more entertainment in the future!
Premiere String Quartet are delighted to have been chosen to provide music for many of Procter and Gamble’s events taking place at Vinopolis in London. They have taken over the venue for 17 days during the Olympics and will be holding lunches and dinners for delegates from many of the countries involved. We will be providing string duos for the smaller events and string trios for the larger events. We are delighted to be involved with the Games and are looking forward to performing for guests from around the world!
