Oliver & Kayleigh’s Wedding at St Peter’s Church & Manor Barn

It is great to play at weddings where the music has been chosen to reflect the couple rather than simply following a set list. For Oliver and Kayleigh’s wedding, Premiere String Trio provided music at St Peter’s Church in Old Town, Bexhill, before heading over to Manor Barn, Bexhill for the reception.

And there was a good mix of music throughout the day.

A personal choice for the ceremony

For Kayleigh’s bridal entrance, we performed How Deep Is Your Love, giving the ceremony a relaxed and modern feel from the very start.

During the signing of the register, Oliver and Kayleigh had chosen two very different favourites: Dreams by Fleetwood Mac and Love Story by Taylor Swift.

It’s always great when couples pick songs that mean something to them, and these worked particularly well as string arrangements.

For the exit, we finished with I Want to Hold Your Hand by The Beatles — a suitably upbeat way to head out of the church and start the celebrations.

From ceremony to celebration

After the ceremony, we made our way to Manor Barn for the reception, where the music took a more relaxed turn.

Rather than sticking to traditional wedding music, Oliver and Kayleigh had selected a mixture of light pop favourites, including Dance Monkey, All of Me and Viva La Vida, along with a few other requests chosen especially by them.

It made for a nice change of pace — the formal part of the day was over, everyone could relax, and the trio provided a live soundtrack in the background while guests chatted, enjoyed the reception and celebrated the couple.

Special Music Requests

Oliver and Kayleigh’s choices are a good example of how varied wedding music can be. From Fleetwood Mac and The Beatles to Taylor Swift and modern pop, there really isn’t a single formula for choosing your wedding songs.
