Isobel & Michael’s Wedding Music at Oxted and Ashdown Park

Isobel and Michael chose Premiere String Quartet to provide music for their wedding in Oxted and at Ashdown Park Hotel, with a programme that combined classical repertoire with arrangements of some of their favourite pop and contemporary songs. The music was selected to suit different parts of the day, from the ceremony through to the drinks reception, making this a varied example of how a string quartet Kent wedding can incorporate both traditional and modern repertoire.

Music for the ceremony in Oxted

The day began at the church in Oxted, where Premiere String Trio performed an exclusively pop programme. The repertoire included All You Need Is Love by The Beatles, Sweet Child O’ Mine by Guns N’ Roses and It Must Be Love by Madness.

For the bridal entrance, Isobel and her bridal party walked down the aisle to Vivaldi’s Winter from The Four Seasons, followed by Pachelbel’s Canon in D. The combination of contemporary arrangements and established classical repertoire gave the ceremony a varied musical programme while retaining the sound of a traditional string ensemble.

The celebrations continued at Ashdown Park Hotel for the drinks reception, where the programme moved back towards contemporary music. Arrangements by Harry Styles, Amy Winehouse and Billie Eilish were included, giving guests a different selection from the music heard at the church.
