Fever Candlelight String Quartet Concert at All Saints Old Chapel, Eastbourne

Premiere String Quartet returned to All Saints Old Chapel, Eastbourne for another candlelight concert presented by Fever. The historic chapel setting, combined with candlelight, created an intimate atmosphere well suited to live chamber music.

This candlelight string quartet concert was performed by our professional string quartet, bringing together popular music and film scores in a close, acoustic setting.

Queen Arranged for String Quartet

The first programme focused on the music of Queen, arranged especially for string quartet. The set included Bohemian Rhapsody, Killer Queen, and Another One Bites the Dust. Performing these works in a chamber music format allowed audiences to hear familiar material in a new way, with emphasis on harmony, rhythm, and ensemble balance.

Hans Zimmer Film Music for String Quartet

The second programme featured film music by Hans Zimmer, moving through contrasting sound worlds from Interstellar and Gladiator to Wonder Woman and Pirates of the Caribbean. The string quartet arrangements highlighted the emotional range of the music while making use of the chapel’s natural acoustic.

A Full Chapel and an Engaged Audience

Both concerts were played to a full chapel, with an audience who listened closely throughout. All Saints, Old Chapel continues to be a valued venue for live string quartet concerts in Eastbourne, offering an atmosphere that supports detailed and expressive performance.
