India and John’s wedding was a lovely example of how live music can work across different parts of a wedding day. The celebrations began with a ceremony at All Saints Church in Blackham, followed by a relaxed drinks reception at Villa Golf Course, where Premiere String Trio provided the soundtrack for the afternoon.

The day began at All Saints Church, Blackham, with Premiere String Trio performing throughout the wedding ceremony.

India and John had chosen a mixture of classical and contemporary music, including some more personal requests. The ceremony programme featured Nessun Dorma alongside Gabrielle’s Dreams for the entrance, creating a programme that felt personal to the couple.

One of the things we particularly enjoy about performing as Premiere String Trio is being able to adapt the repertoire around each couple. Classical pieces can sit alongside recognisable pop arrangements, film music and other personal favourites, giving the ceremony its own character.

For India and John, the combination of repertoire worked well within the setting of All Saints Church. We provided live music as guests arrived, during the ceremony itself and around the key moments.

Live Music at Villa Golf Course, Blackham

After the ceremony, India and John and their guests made their way to Villa Golf Course in Blackham for the drinks reception.

Villa Golf Course is a particularly lovely setting for a wedding drinks reception, with its open views providing a backdrop for live music. A string trio works especially well at this point in the day, as the music can add atmosphere without overpowering conversations between guests.

For the reception, Premiere String Trio moved away from classical repertoire used for the ceremony and performed a selection of familiar pop arrangements chosen by the couple. This is something we regularly do for weddings, creating a programme that can change with the mood of the day.
